Heroes are people who we idolize--people who we emulate. A hero typically embodies the values of his or her nation. Gilgamesh was a hero because he organized and protected his city-state. Sundiata was a hero because he was able to unite the tribes of Mali and to lead them both in and out of battle. Achilles was a hero to the Greeks because of his strength, wit, and skill in battle.
What qualities would a hero in our culture embody? Who is an example of a modern hero, and what makes that person a hero? Support your answer with details and explanations.

In my opinion, a modern hero is someone who stands up for what they believe in and fights for social justice. I think Malala Yousafzai is a hero because she fights for educational equality for females. Even though she is only sixteen, Malala has campaigned to fight laws in Pakistan that would prevent girls from having access to schools. Some Taliban extremists didn’t like this, so they shot her. Malala miraculously survived, and she continues to speak out for educational equality. She has received several awards and accolades; she was even on the cover of Time magazine. Malala is a hero because most people would be too afraid to stand up for their own rights, but she fights for herself and for other young people.

I remember at one point and time that I was a hero. I stood up for the people that were being bullied. I could not stand to see it because it hurts my feelings to see and hear it. I stand up for them because I know how they feel and how hard, annoying, and mean it is. Sometimes it breaks peoples hearts because some kids are hurting and killing there selves because of it and after awhile you cant take it anymore, That's how and why i know that i am a hero because i am saving peoples lives and making them happy.

DeleteThe Time I help Someone not be scared for there Spinal Surgery a few weeks ago i went to my Facebook and my friend gf ask me about what happen because she was about to get surgery in December and what do they do and i told her it will be ok that nothing is gonna happen to her and she was so scared and i told her every thing what gonna happen and she told me that i was her inspiration and hero becuase and that made so happy it almost made me cry becuase she said that and thats how a hero dose

DeleteA hero to me is someone that does something for people that makes them a better person. I think any teacher is a her. They take time out of there day to come teach kids and if there student are doing bad they go out of there way to give them extra credit. Teachers care for there students. If a kid is having a problem teachers try in help in any type of way. They also can be looked as a hero because they give education to everyone and you need education to get through life. The more education that you have the better job you'll have and the better job you have the more money you will make.

DeleteA hero to me is someone who makes sacrifices toward themselves and helps other people. A hero to me would be my mother because throughout my whole life she has made unbelievable sacrifices for me, and for that I love her with all my heart. Another hero to me would be Beyonce because her music has reached out and touched me and healed me. I love beyonce and I thank fer alot for her music that she makes every day. One more hero to me would be my aunt because she also makes sacrifices for me and I think that is awsome.

ReplyDeleteGod is my one and only true hero because he is always going to be there for me even when NOBODY else is . Hes helped me get through a lot of stuff in life and iv'e learned my lesson plenty of times from him . I have did bad things in the past and when people didnt forgive me , i know he did and always will .
ReplyDeleteI think a hero is somebody, no matter what the circumstances are, they are always there to help, somebody is forgiving and forgetful, someone who is nice sweet and kind, I think that a personal hero for me is my Dad, no matter what happened he was always there for me and sometimes my own Mom wasn't even there but he was. A hero will always be in someone's life whether its your friend or even a animal.it even may be somebody who is in jail, as long as you're satisfied with who you choose to be your hero.
ReplyDeletei'm a hero because i teach people how to be better in there life so they can improve themselves in the future. I improve myself in sports because that's what i do outside of school so i improve each day in my life so that my family can be proud of me and so i can be in college and in the NBA. I have to keep my grades up in school so i can be in college and in the pro's, because my brother on my mom side he's in college at NC state and probably playing spots now.
